Uni Norths' Owls Rugby Club (Owls), based on the edge of Canberra's CBD, is a Premier Rugby Club playing in Canberra's premier John I Dent Cup competition. The Owls has 6 teams representing 1st to 4th Grades, Colts (U20s) and Female players.
The Owls have long-standing affiliations with The Australian National University and University of Canberra, with many of our players being students or alumni. Players, however, are not required to attend University to be eligible to play for the Owls.
The John I Dent is a proven pathway for club players to push for higher honours, including the National Rugby Championship, Brumbies Academy and Brumbies Rugby programs. In 2019, The Owls are represented at Brumbies level by Allan Alaalatoa, David Pocock, Tom Banks, Murray Douglas and Irae Simone.
The 2019 John I Dent season starts the end of March / start of April. The Owls welcomes all players whether aspirational or participation. S&C programs and skill development are available to all players.
We are currently looking for a quality Tight Head Prop and a Fly half / Inside Centre to play as part of the Owls Premier Grade teams (1st & 2nd Grades and Colts).
Support packages are available for the appropriate players that include:
§ Accommodation assistance; and
§ Assistance with finding employment.
Players are responsible for organising and arranging their own short-term working visa.
