Uni Norths'
Owls Rugby Club (Owls), based on the edge of Canberra's CBD, is a Premier Rugby
Club playing in Canberra's premier John I Dent Cup competition. The Owls has 6
teams representing 1st to 4th Grades, Colts (U20s) and
Female players.
The Owls
have long-standing affiliations with The Australian National University and
University of Canberra, with many of our players being students or alumni.
Players, however, are not required to attend University to be eligible to play
for the Owls.
The John I
Dent is a proven pathway for club players to push for higher honours, including
the National Rugby Championship, Brumbies Academy and Brumbies Rugby programs.
In 2019, The Owls are represented at Brumbies level by Allan Alaalatoa, David
Pocock, Tom Banks, Murray Douglas and Irae Simone.
Opportunity
The 2019 John
I Dent season starts the end of March / start of April. The Owls welcomes all
players whether aspirational or participation. S&C programs and skill
development are available to all players.
We are currently
looking for a quality Tight Head Prop and a Fly half / Inside Centre to play as
part of the Owls Premier Grade teams (1st & 2nd
Grades and Colts).
Support
packages are available for the appropriate players that include:
§ Travel;
§ Accommodation assistance; and
§ Assistance with finding employment.
Players are
responsible for organising and arranging their own short-term working visa.
